Dr. Fatma SIRMATEL was born in 1955 in Çorum-Sungurlu.
 After primary-secondary and high school education, he entered Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1972 and left the same faculty as an Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist in 1983 and did his compulsory service at Kastamonu State Hospital.
Later, he worked as a specialist in Nevşehir, Şanlıurfa State Hospitals.
 While working in State Hospitals, he also worked as the Head of Public Health Laboratory and started his academic life in Gaziantep University Şahinbey Faculty of Medicine in 1990.
He became an associate professor in 1995 and a professor in 2004. Dr. Fatma SIRMATEL transferred to Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University in 2007 and still continues her academic life at this university.
During his university life, he served as the head of the department, head of the department, member of the faculty board, board of directors and the Director of the School of Health.
 In addition to his academic life, he worked, managed and presided in Association for Supporting Contemporary Life, Turkish University Women's Association, AIDS Fight Association and Fight Against Viral Hepatitis Associations.
 He is still a board member of the Turkish University Women Association.
He has enriched his academic experience abroad as a visiting lecturer at universities in Australia-Sydney, Canada-Toronto and Romania-Cluj.
 Having many publications, papers and participation in Turkey and abroad, Dr. Fatma SIRMATEL received the Abant İzzet Baysal Foundation scientific award five times.
In addition to its social activities, it still continues its scientific studies in Bolu AİBÜ. Married and fluent in English, Dr. Fatma SIRMATEL has a doctor and an engineer, two children and two grandchildren.
