About Us
Serdar Vetem was born on 08.08.1973 in Mersin. He completed his secondary and high school education at Toros College. He completed his undergraduate education at Çukurova University Faculty of Agriculture, which he chose as his only preference and entered with first rank.Due to the early passing of his father Usman Vetem, a member of Mersin Rotary Club, he has been managing the family company İstek Gübre Tarım Inc. since 1989. In 2010, he additionally established İstek Fresh Inc. to carry out agricultural production and continues production in three different locations. He is also a founding partner and Chairman of the Audit Board of Atash Inc., the first company in the sector to carry out nationwide distribution as a model. He completed his military service in Istanbul in 1998.
In 1997, he married his wife Pelin, a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management. Pelin Vetem is engaged in greenhouse banana cultivation. The Vetem couple has three children: Efe (27), Selin (25), and Demir (17). Efe is a graduate of Özyeğin University Le Cordon Bleu and works in the family company. Selin is a graduate of Bilgi University Faculty of Law and has completed her legal internship. Selin is the Founding President of Mersin Interact Club and served as IBT in the 2017-2018 term. Demir is an 11th grade student at METU Mersin College and a member of Mersin Interact Club.
Serdar Vetem became a member of Mersin Rotaract Club in 1995 and later joined Mersin Rotary Club in 2005. He served as Club President in the 2017-2018 term.
